I will post a link tomorrow so you can see what this Artist's work is about better..... as for your impressions, well uh geez Frank ... is that ALL you ever think about? :)
Kate - You are really getting at some of the artist's intent I think! Here is a link to learn more about Chakaia Booker's work. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chakaia_Booker
My friend Jerry and I were both drawn to her work while reviewing, briefly, a show in Kansas City - him in person & me on-line. I am passionate about the use of found objects in Art and especially passionate about work constructed out of an obsessive, compulsive, highly detailed and often labor intensive and inventive style or mode of expression. For me it represents a complete merging of experiences. The merging of the experience of Life and the experience of Art - so that they are the same and not separate - they are one and the same experience.
I am not much with words - but I hope you enjoy. The name of the sculpture in the photo on my blog is is untitled (male torso that left his path) - inspired no doubt by Henry Moore's sculpture.
If you want more you can google the two items below.....

Very interesting artwork. Thanks for the info! I'm really liking this one, but in a way that I find slightly disturbing, but I can't stop looking at it: http://www.chakaiabooker.com/ped/Conscience-Disorder.html

I'm curious also. I'm seeing a something that might come from Dante's Inferno interpreted with old tires.
I see a Cubanistic impression of the inner turmoil of everyday struggles as a result of living in a capitalistic society.
(not really, i just like to sound smart)
In all seriousness, it makes you think.. which to me is what good art is all about.
