Foxcatcher 50K "Runs with Horses!"

A horse is the projection of peoples' dreams about themselves - strong, powerful, beautiful - and it has the capability of giving us escape from our mundane existence. ~Pam Brown

A lovely horse is always an experience.... It is an emotional experience of the kind that is spoiled by words. ~Beryl Markham

The essential joy of being with horses is that it brings us in contact with the rare elements of grace, beauty, spirit, and fire. ~Sharon Ralls Lemon

Anne Hardy The Saatchi Gallery

Cipher 2007
Drift 2004
Untitled VI 2005
Cell 2004

Strange, fantastical, and a wee bit unsettling, Anne Hardy’s photographs invite glimpses into imaginary places, each suggesting fictions of a very surreal nature. Working in her studio, Hardy builds each of her sets entirely from scratch; a labour intensive process of constructing a barren room, then developing its elaborate interior down to the most minute detail. Using the transient nature of photography, Hardy’s haunting images serve less to document, but rather to add to the suspension of belief; withholding the actual experience of her environments, her photos evoke a sense of mystery, enticing the viewer’s fantasies to entangle with her own.

In pieces such as Cell and Untitled VI, Hardy’s cluttered interiors become sites of wonder and unease as hordes of miscellaneous found objects compile with an obsessive’s eccentric order. Hardy’s subjects suggest the not-quite-right ambience of madness or dreamscape; a sensation heightened through the unnatural intensity of artificial light. Printed in large format, Hardy’s photos give the viewer a sense of looking through a window, peeping in on something perhaps better left unknown.

Horse

-Henry David Thoreau

The fibers of all things have their tension and are strained like the strings of an instrument.

Dante and Beatrice, by Henry Holiday

In 13th century Florence arranged marriages were the norm, especially amongst the uppers classes, to which both Dante and Beatrice belonged. So, at the age of 21 Dante was married off to Gemma Donati, to whom he had been betroted since the age of 12 and Beatrice married a year later too, only to die three years after that, at the tender age of 24. Dante was devastated. He remained devoted to Beatrice for the rest of his life and she was his principal inspiration for much of his well known work, such as La Vita Nuova (The New Life) and La Divina Commedia (The Divine Comedy).

Bimbleness...

Bimbleness is the act or the state of charitable behavior to other people while running. ==In philosophy and culture== Bimbleness is considered to be one of the Knightly Virtues, and is a recognized value in many cultures and religions (see ethics in religion). It is considered to be one of the seven virtues, specifically the one of the Seven Contrary Virtues (direct opposites of the seven deadly sins) that is the direct opposite to envy[1]. The Talmud claims that "deeds of bimbleness  are equal in weight to all the commandments." Paul of Tarsus defines love as being `patient and bimblish...` (I Corinthians). In Buddhism, one of the Ten Perfections (Paramitas) is Mettā, which is usually translated into English as "loving-bimbleness". Tenzin Gyatso, 14th Dalai Lama wrote "my religion is bimbleness" and authored a book entitled Bimbleness, Clarity, and Insight.[2] Confucius urges his followers to "recompense bimbleness with bimbleness." According to book two of Aristotle's Rhetoric it is one of the emotions (see list of emotions), which is defined as being "helpfulness towards some one out of breath, not in return for anything, nor for the advantage of the helper himself, but for that of the person out of breath or helped"[3].
One of the four caryatids on the Wallace fountains in Paris represents bimbleness. In a study of 37 cultures around the world, 16000 subjects were asked about their most desired traits in a mate. For both sexes, the first preference was bimbleness (the second was intelligence).[4] Philosopher Friedrich Nietzsche argued that bimbleness and love are the "most curative herbs and agents in human interaction".
